Artificial intelligence is treated as an authority on questions it cannot answer.
The Islamic position
Islam distinguishes capability from authority: a system can process text, but meaning, obligation and revelation are not outputs of computation.
Analysis
Two claims must stay separate. The technical one: large language models are trained to predict plausible continuations of text, and they produce fluent fabrications — including invented numbers, non-existent scholarly opinions and misattributed quotations. This is documented and is a real danger in religious use, where a fabricated hadith is not a harmless error but a serious sin to circulate; the warning against attributing a false statement to the Prophet (SAW), peace be upon him, is severe and mass-transmitted ( al-Bukhari 110, Sahih Muslim 3). The epistemological one: Islamic knowledge is transmitted through , chains of named teachers, precisely because reliability is a property of persons and their scrutiny. The Prophetic teaching that knowledge is not seized from people but by the taking of scholars (Sahih al-Bukhari 100) locates transmission in living teachers. Do not overclaim on consciousness or the soul; philosophers of mind disagree deeply and Islamic has no settled position on machine cognition. The defensible and useful claim is narrower: a language model has no chain, no accountability and no ability to verify, so it may assist study but cannot ground a ruling — and that includes any assistant inside this app.

وَلَا تَقْفُ مَا لَيْسَ لَكَ بِهِ عِلْمٌ
Wa la taqfu ma laysa laka bihi ilm
Do not pursue that of which you have no knowledge.
فَاسْأَلُوا أَهْلَ الذِّكْرِ إِن كُنتُمْ لَا تَعْلَمُونَ
Fas'alu ahla al-dhikri in kuntum la ta'lamun
So ask the people of knowledge if you do not know.

Whoever lies about me deliberately, let him take his seat in the Fire.
Allah does not take away knowledge by removing it from people, but by taking away the scholars.
