Dawah Bible is a free study and reference app for comparative theology and interfaith dialogue. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what you can ask us to do with it. It is written to meet UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Dawah Bible is operated by Karmali Investments (the "we" in this policy). Our full company details and registered address are being finalised and will be published here shortly. Until then, you can reach us about anything in this policy at salim@dawahbible.org. We are the data controller for the information described below.
We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising or profiling.
We use a small number of trusted providers who process data on our instructions: our hosting, database and sign-in provider; our email delivery provider, for the messages described above; an AI provider, which processes the question text you send to the AI companion in order to generate an answer; and Stripe, which handles all card payments for donations. Payments are taken by Karmali Investments through Stripe. Some providers operate outside the UK, in which case transfers are covered by appropriate safeguards such as UK international data transfer agreements.
We only use essential storage on your device: what is needed to keep you signed in, remember your light or dark theme, and keep the app working. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies, so there is no consent banner to click through.
Your account and the content you create are kept while your account exists. If you delete your account, that content is deleted with it. Donation and financial records are kept for as long as accounting and tax law requires, normally six years, even after an account is deleted.
Under UK GDPR you can ask us to give you a copy of your information, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, or provide it in a portable format. You can delete your account and its content yourself at any time from the Settings area of the app. To exercise any other right, email salim@dawahbible.org and we will respond within one month. If you are unhappy with our response, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
The app is intended for people aged 13 and over. If you believe a younger child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page, and tell you by email if the change is significant.
