The claim being examined

Selling intimate images is presented as empowerment: a woman monetising her own body on her own terms.

The Islamic position

Islam treats the body as an amanah — held in trust from God, not owned outright — so it is not available to be sold, however good the terms.

Analysis

Treat the economics honestly, because the empowerment claim collapses fastest on its own numbers. Independent analyses of creator-platform payout data — including widely reported research on OnlyFans earnings distributions — consistently find extreme concentration, with a small minority of accounts earning the large majority of revenue and the median account earning modest sums; the company's own published aggregate figures are not broken down in a way that supports the marketing. Cite this as pattern rather than as a precise number unless you have the source in front of you. The permanence point is uncontested: content is copied, redistributed and archived beyond the creator's control, and the reputational and employment consequences surface years later. The Islamic argument is prior to all of this. In Islamic theology the body is a trust: the Prophet, peace be upon him, taught that a person will be asked on the Day of Judgement about their body and how they used it (Jami at-Tirmidhi 2417, graded hasan sahih), and the limbs will testify (Q 41:20-21). A trust cannot be sold. Nothing in this card justifies contempt for any woman doing this work — Q 24:19 warns those who love that indecency spread, and mockery is forbidden.
