The claim being examined
Revelation and rational evidence answer different starting points; accepting one does not require rejecting the other.
The Islamic position
Islam calls people to recognise fitrah, hear revelation and reflect carefully on signs within themselves and the world.
Analysis
Dr. Ali Ataie distinguishes a presuppositional route—revelation, gnosis and fitrah—from an evidential route using shared premises. This is a difference of starting point, not a split between faith and reason. Qur'an 41:53 joins outward and inward signs; the authentic fitrah describes a natural receptivity to God.
From the Qur'an
سَنُرِيهِمْ آيَاتِنَا فِي الْآفَاقِ وَفِي أَنفُسِهِمْ حَتَّىٰ يَتَبَيَّنَ لَهُمْ أَنَّهُ الْحَقُّ
Sa-nurihim ayatina fi al-afaqi wa-fi anfusihim hatta yatabayyana lahum annahu al-haqq.
We will show them Our signs in the horizons and within themselves until it becomes clear to them that it is the truth.
