"Nobody Has Seriously Tried"

Handle with care. Do not mock attempts as a substitute for analysis, and never claim 'nobody has ever tried'. That claim is false and easily checked.

The claim being examined

The claim that the challenge is unmet invites the reply that it has never been properly attempted under fair conditions.

The Islamic position

Attempts exist — from Musaylimah onward — and the point is not the absence of attempts but the verdict on them.

Analysis

This objection deserves a direct answer because dodging it looks evasive. Attempts have been made in every century, and Muslims should point to them rather than deny them: the material is public. Al-Khattabi's framework then applies — do these texts hold the three elements together, or do they reproduce cadence around thin content? Musaylimah's surviving lines are the standard example because they mimic the sound pattern while the meaning collapses, which is precisely the trade-off the thesis predicts. The honest statement of the case is therefore comparative and open: the attempts exist, they can be read, and the judgement is available to anyone with the language.
