"Every Scripture Sounds Beautiful to Believers"

Handle with care. Never respond by disparaging another community's scripture. The argument is about a claim structure, not about whose book is prettier.

In short

1.Concede the point: subjective awe is evidence of a response, not of a source.
2.Shift the weight to what is checkable: genre, diction, and the historical record of the challenge.
3.Note the asymmetry: the Qur'an itself makes the falsifiable claim; most scriptures do not.
4.Then hand the listener the criteria and invite them to test rather than to feel.

The claim being examined

The strongest secular objection is that aesthetic judgements track prior commitment. Believers of every tradition find their own book supreme.

The Islamic position

This is a fair objection to the aesthetic argument alone, which is why the case rests on the failed challenge and on analysable features.

Analysis

Handled badly, this objection ends the conversation; handled well, it raises the quality of it. The honest concession is that reverence produces aesthetic conviction in every tradition, and that a Muslim's certainty about the Qur'an's beauty is not itself evidence to an outsider. What survives the concession is the structure of the claim: a text that names a test, addresses it to its own hostile experts, predicts their failure, and is judged against stated criteria of diction, meaning and composition. That structure is unusual among religious texts, and it moves the discussion from competing testimonies to a shared examination.
