The five tests: how to judge any prophecy claim
Handle with care. Do not apply the tests only to other faiths. Invite them to apply the same five to Islam — that is the whole point, and refusing it destroys your credibility.

- 4.Predictability — not something a shrewd observer of the politics could have worked out anyway.
- 5.Integrity — the person predicting is not known for deceiving people.
The claim being examined
Every religion and every psychic claims foreknowledge. Without an agreed standard, "prophecy" becomes a word game where each side counts hits and ignores misses.
The Islamic position
Abu Zakariya proposes five neutral criteria that anyone — Muslim, Christian or atheist — can apply: accuracy, frequency, clarity, predictability and integrity. Apply them to everyone, including the Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
Analysis
Agree the five tests before you look at anyone. That is what keeps it honest instead of arranging the rules around the answer you want. Keep two things apart. A prediction with a deadline that passed and did not happen counts against the person. A prediction with no deadline yet reached is simply still pending — it proves nothing either way. And accuracy on its own is not enough. A sharp observer in 615 could have guessed plenty about the empires of the day. The real test is whether the prediction went against everything visible at the time. Do not use these tests only on other faiths. Invite them to apply the same five to Islam. That is the whole point, and refusing it destroys your credibility on the spot.

عَـٰلِمُ ٱلْغَيْبِ فَلَا يُظْهِرُ عَلَىٰ غَيْبِهِۦٓ أَحَدًا إِلَّا مَنِ ٱرْتَضَىٰ مِن رَّسُولٍۢ
ʿālimu l-ghaybi falā yuẓ'hiru ʿalā ghaybihi aḥadan illā mani ir'taḍā min rasūlin
Knower of the unseen, and He does not disclose His knowledge of the unseen to anyone, except whom He has approved of messengers.
