The concept of prophethood: who prophets are
In short
- 1.Prophets in Islam are the primary means by which God's guidance reaches humanity [16:36].

The claim being examined
The Bible presents prophets as flawed human beings whose failings, including grave sins, are recorded without embarrassment.
The Islamic position
Islam holds prophets to be morally protected (isma) in what pertains to conveying revelation and major sin — chosen models, not cautionary tales.
Analysis
The difference is not simply devotional. If prophets are the vehicle of guidance, their integrity is part of the reliability of the guidance. A tradition that records its prophets committing idolatry, incest or murder, and then continues to treat their writings as revelation, has a coherence problem the Qur'an addresses directly by defending those same figures.
From the Qur'an
وَلَقَدْ بَعَثْنَا فِى كُلِّ أُمَّةٍۢ رَّسُولًا أَنِ ٱعْبُدُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَٱجْتَنِبُوا۟ ٱلطَّـٰغُوتَ ۖ
walaqad baʿathnā fī kulli ummatin rasūlan ani uʿ'budū l-laha wa-ij'tanibū l-ṭāghūta
We sent a messenger to every community, saying: Worship God and shun false gods.
لَّقَدْ كَانَ لَكُمْ فِى رَسُولِ ٱللَّهِ أُسْوَةٌ حَسَنَةٌۭ
laqad kāna lakum fī rasūli l-lahi us'watun ḥasanatun
There has certainly been for you in the Messenger of God an excellent pattern.
