Who made the calf, and the calf that lowed

The claim being examined
Exodus has Aaron make the calf, and then claims it emerged from the fire on its own.
The Islamic position
The Qur'an names al-Samiri as the maker, describes the calf as a body that made a lowing sound, and has Musa confront him directly.
Analysis
This card sits alongside the Aaron card but makes a different point: the Qur'anic account keeps a responsible agent in the narrative and follows the consequences through. Q 20:85 states that al-Samiri led them astray; Q 20:88 describes what he produced — "a calf, a body which had a lowing sound", ijlan jasadan lahu khuwar — and Q 20:95-97 has Musa interrogate him by name, hear his answer, and pronounce his punishment: exclusion from society, so that he must say "no contact" to everyone he meets. The Bible, having attributed the making to Aaron, then has Aaron disclaim agency altogether: "I threw it into the fire, and out came this calf" (Ex 32:24). The narrative therefore has an idol with no maker and a high priest with no accountability, and the death of three thousand men follows in Ex 32:28. The Qur'an also gives an internal explanation for the lowing rather than presenting a self-generating idol: the description is of a hollow body producing a sound, and classical commentators discuss how it was made to do so. The methodological point worth naming out loud is that a text acting as criterion tends to close the loops: a culprit, a confrontation, a verdict.

فَأَخْرَجَ لَهُمْ عِجْلًا جَسَدًا لَّهُ خُوَارٌ فَقَالُوا هَٰذَا إِلَٰهُكُمْ وَإِلَٰهُ مُوسَىٰ فَنَسِيَ
Then he produced for them a calf, a body which made a lowing sound, and they said: this is your god and the god of Moses, but he forgot.
قَالَ فَاذْهَبْ فَإِنَّ لَكَ فِي الْحَيَاةِ أَن تَقُولَ لَا مِسَاسَ
He said: then go, for indeed it is yours in this life to say: no contact.
